Take a video while verify the phone model and perform a factory reset in from of the video and then put the factory reset phone into the return envelop/box, seal the box and apply the label. Then stop the video.
I never run into any issue with my past 6-7 Google store trade-ins but I began taking video last year as many others suggested after they ran into he said/she said issue.
Note: I have the 2TB storage plan in my account , if that makes any difference.
