You dont have to do this necessarily as the verification code they send when you are purchasing the phone doesnt have to be the phone number you are porting. You can get the verification code on any number then when you port a number over you can use the number barn number for $5

Yes, but nobody sold you something for $125-200 under retailer wholesale cost.
You get what you pay for.
You can buy this phone for more without the requirements.
If they did not require this some folks would buy dozens to resell (which I have no exact issue with other than it make such a deal impossible to offer)
Decide for yourself.
It's really no different from walking into T-mobile and signing a contract to get a 'free' or subsidized iphone. They take your id there.

I'm in for one.

I've been using a work phone as my personal for about 3 years, but the office recently decided the tax ramifications were too much to deal with and gave us 2 months to stop all personal use of work phones. I've batted around every combination of the 16 (Xfinity) and 16e (Visible, Total) deals, used 12/13/mini on US Mobile, Boost, Xfinity, etc. My only real requirement was MagSafe and not Plus/Max size (both for compatibility with the MagSafe charger in my car).

After the 3 months are up, I'll probably move to US Mobile or switch my home internet to the $30/mo 400mbps plan on Xfinity and use their free 1-year mobile line offer. I actually ascribe a bit of value to the free Disney+ Premium included with Total, but not enough to keep me with them past the included 3 months (but it will be nice, Disney+ has the absolute worst and most obtrusive ads, plus the ad plan doesn't include Dolby Atmos audio).

Just did a gv transfer with a he iphone16e deal and it worked fine. I used this as the port in address:
1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy
Mountain View, CA 94043
Worked for me

That zip code wouldn't work for me and doesn't work with certain phone numbers for some reason. If you don't have a GV number already, get the TextNow one just to be safe. Have to pay $3 to port out GV, free for TN.

I wonder how much it costs for Apple to really make this phone, i bet it's less than this....

TextNow will give you detailed info and a pin. I created an acct with them then immediately started a chat to help with the port out. Do this to get the pin from them. They gave me all of the info and detailed instructions. Said to use my own zip code.
gotcha, Thank you very much.

So you don't even need to wait for the SIM card to port out the TextNow number?

There's no sim. This is considered a landline as is google voice. Did it after I had the new phone.
I'm just using this number for the deal. Didn't want to port my real number. Can put real sim in or port real number to phone after the 60 day lock.

Well at least it's just $3. You might as well try it then. You'll know pretty quickly if the zip doesn't work. Once I had the phone and tried to port out, TW contacted me and said the zip was wrong. Then it was a week plus of frustration, calls, tons of research until finding the option of TextNow.

Did you do this? It says we have to subscribe and pay 2$/week for verification code support

That's the code you setup for your gv voice mail, just make sure you set up the voice mail and create a code, seems like most of the time the voicemail feature has to be turned on

Question: Did a similar deal about 3 weeks ago, and was activated at that time. Will my phone still unlock with one month of paid service and 60 days or do I have to have two months paid now?

What's the best place to get a new phone number to do this deal? I already ported out my previous Google Voice number, and don't want to port my current Verizon number over to them.
