You dont have to do this necessarily as the verification code they send when you are purchasing the phone doesnt have to be the phone number you are porting. You can get the verification code on any number then when you port a number over you can use the number barn number for $5

Yes, but nobody sold you something for $125-200 under retailer wholesale cost.
You get what you pay for.
You can buy this phone for more without the requirements.
If they did not require this some folks would buy dozens to resell (which I have no exact issue with other than it make such a deal impossible to offer)
Decide for yourself.
It's really no different from walking into T-mobile and signing a contract to get a 'free' or subsidized iphone. They take your id there.

I bought mine in store for $90.13 OTD. Shop the dealers and let them know you are price shopping others like Metro and Cricket. These stores are independently owned so do your best to negotiate. My deal was with the store manager and she was not going to let me walk.
EDIT: let me add that this was last month and things have changed, but the dealers set their own terms.

I signed up for this deal porting in from US mobile. total wireless wouldn't take my visa gift card for $165 90 days but it worked for my regular credit card. assume they want to charge a recurring monthly bill. not bad for a new iphone 13, we shall see...

You need park plan on numberban which is extra $2 and then enable text messages there. You'll receive all text messages there for verification.

I did that a few months ago with numberbarn but it wouldn't send the code to the number I bought.

I sent the initial verification code to my google voice number as I didnt want to put in my personal number. They just send a code to any number you put in when you go activate the phone it doesnt have to be the same number you got the verification code on.

I ordered one yesterday in the morning, was marked as shipped yesterday midnight but still UPS hasn't received the package yet, only a label was created. Has anyone gotten more than this?

what is the best way to get a port in number for this deal? I tried GV and it is not getting message. Same with my verizon number. I am trying to understand how Number barn or Text now will work.
