You dont have to do this necessarily as the verification code they send when you are purchasing the phone doesnt have to be the phone number you are porting. You can get the verification code on any number then when you port a number over you can use the number barn number for $5

Yes, but nobody sold you something for $125-200 under retailer wholesale cost.
You get what you pay for.
You can buy this phone for more without the requirements.
If they did not require this some folks would buy dozens to resell (which I have no exact issue with other than it make such a deal impossible to offer)
Decide for yourself.
It's really no different from walking into T-mobile and signing a contract to get a 'free' or subsidized iphone. They take your id there.

No you can't do that because pSIM and 3 month plan is binded with IMEI of iPhone. Would suggest not to disturb setup until iPhone gets unlocked. However, you can try other way around, convert TrackFone pSim to eSim and use it. Provide 2nd IMEI of iPhone when you activate TrackFone eSim.

I believe TW is treating 3 months $165 plan differently than single $55 monthly plan. Got same answer from customer support guy when I asked about Disney+ promo. Also noticed that when I tried to add 2nd line with free Galaxy A36 phone with port-in promo, I can see full price in cart at final checkout page. Not sure that just me or it is applicable to all who are on same $165 plan.

Is this only with a switch? Could I get this deal if I wanted to just buy the phone and the 3 month plan with a new number? Thinking about this for one of our kids, but not sure if the logistics work with all the requirements.

Looks like unlock policy changed to 2 months active service for most of the other offers . I guess for this deal, we paid 3 months service fee and phone will unlock automatically after 60 days
