You dont have to do this necessarily as the verification code they send when you are purchasing the phone doesnt have to be the phone number you are porting. You can get the verification code on any number then when you port a number over you can use the number barn number for $5

Yes, but nobody sold you something for $125-200 under retailer wholesale cost.
You get what you pay for.
You can buy this phone for more without the requirements.
If they did not require this some folks would buy dozens to resell (which I have no exact issue with other than it make such a deal impossible to offer)
Decide for yourself.
It's really no different from walking into T-mobile and signing a contract to get a 'free' or subsidized iphone. They take your id there.

There's no sim. This is considered a landline as is google voice. Did it after I had the new phone. I'm just using this number for the deal. Didn't want to port my real number. Can put real sim in or port real number to phone after the 60 day lock.
I chatted with them 2 months ago (trying to get a similar deal from total wireless) but textfree rep wouldn't give me info, she said that I have to change my account to their pay version then they will give me to port out pin and etc.

People are still sporting 7 and 8 or SE 1st gen. In general, they last. For updates, my 2018 ipad does not get them any longer but the 13 i think will have staying power. Fast chip, 5G, same chip as 14, so its really only 2 years/cycles behind. Cutting the 13 means cutting the 14. Should get 3-4 more updates.

The iphone X (2017) is "vintage" now, but the XS and XR from 2018 is still officially supported. The 13 is from 21 and has the same chip as 14 from 22.

with so many of these basically free phone/service deals that pop up...i don't even see myself caring about how long a phone is supported anymore. odds are i'll use this phone 1-1.5 years and then we will start seeing similar deals for the 15. sell the 13 for $100 and move on to the next phone.

i like seeing the phones as temporary/disposable because despite having a slightly older phone you get a new battery. also kinda like having "free" insurance because you aren't paying much for the phones so not as huge of a deal if lost or damaged.

Dont buy it. They will not unlock your phone. Same goes for straight talk, verizon, tracfone. Buy at your own risk.

When I tried to activate my iPhone 13 from the previous TW deal with a new number, I got an error message that a port was required. It would not let me proceed without providing the porting information.

I can confirm this. Ordered with my wife's T-Mobile number for the SMS. Ported my Google Voice number when I received the phone.

I had a little hick-up with my google port. I figured it out and it was done. TW CS could have helped if needed.

I maxed out my four discounted devices with one account so I'm creating a second account to order four new devices with different ID. I was able to order a free A36 but I got a message we cannot process your transaction at this time please try again later when trying to order iPhone 13? I will try to order another A36 after I activate my A36 since secondary Line Discount will only appear after you've activated your first line, but I'm wondering why iphone 13 order failed since I only have one device on this account.

I tried adding a second device to my account and it asked me to verify my ID again which I thought was strange but I did it anyways but after that completed it said I can't order a new device because I must log in with my existing account but I already was logged in. Nevertheless I can't get the discount and the verify prompt keeps coming up. Do I need to activate my first line before ordering additional devices? I ordered my first device earlier today

Previous deals say you need to activate the first one then you can get discount for 2nd, yours hasn't even shipped.
Shouldn't be any reason to verify a second time since they keep verification info for several weeks. Once order has actually shipped sometimes you can log in to the website & activate it online, then you can order the 2nd.
