You dont have to do this necessarily as the verification code they send when you are purchasing the phone doesnt have to be the phone number you are porting. You can get the verification code on any number then when you port a number over you can use the number barn number for $5

Yes, but nobody sold you something for $125-200 under retailer wholesale cost.
You get what you pay for.
You can buy this phone for more without the requirements.
If they did not require this some folks would buy dozens to resell (which I have no exact issue with other than it make such a deal impossible to offer)
Decide for yourself.
It's really no different from walking into T-mobile and signing a contract to get a 'free' or subsidized iphone. They take your id there.

When I inquire about the unlock policy, here is what it says:

For cellphones Activated with new service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone is eligible for unlocking after paid Activation and 60 days of paid active service.

So we really need to wait 60 days only instead of 90?

Purchased plan is for 90 days of service but phones unlock after 60 days of paid service. (Unlock has never been 90 days).

I purchased a 3-month plan with iPhone 13. I activated the phone on April 27. On May 26, I can't make any phone call or access the internet via cellular data. When I tried to call, I got a voice message that my phone is deactivated. Did anyone have the same issue?

Bought lots of phones from TW/ST & Tracfone, never had my service cut off while I had an active plan. Earlier deals only had 30 days, maybe double check your order receipt?
Definitely contact support tomorrow to get it figured out.

Just a follow up. I contacted support via chat and provided my IMEI and SIM card number. The agent did something in their backend and restored my service. The agent said some recent update in their system deactivated my phone.

Literally like 15-20 minutes from start to finish. From the second I took the phone out of its box to setting up the number with number barn to starting the port out process.

Is sickw.com stil accurate for reporting sim lock status? I activated my phone on March 27, paid for two months and today 63 days since activation and sickw.com still reports as locked.
