You dont have to do this necessarily as the verification code they send when you are purchasing the phone doesnt have to be the phone number you are porting. You can get the verification code on any number then when you port a number over you can use the number barn number for $5

Yes, but nobody sold you something for $125-200 under retailer wholesale cost.
You get what you pay for.
You can buy this phone for more without the requirements.
If they did not require this some folks would buy dozens to resell (which I have no exact issue with other than it make such a deal impossible to offer)
Decide for yourself.
It's really no different from walking into T-mobile and signing a contract to get a 'free' or subsidized iphone. They take your id there.

You port in the number at activation. After port completes the phone becomes active. You can't port in if phone is already activated.
I would contact support to find out if phone was activated correctly - if it wasn't there might be issues unlocking later.

Total wireless deactivated my number after 1 month use. Google search what happened, and found out happened at many people, leave this company when plan is finished.

I was able to port in Google Voice by chatting with the CSR
You will need...
1) Account Number (GV same as your phone number)
2) Phone Number
3) Pin Number (GV voicemail pass code)
4) Phone IMEI

I ordered iPhone 13 on 5/25, and received within a week. But weird thing is the online order status is still showing remote fulfillment and no tracking info.

I was lazy and tried with new number, and it activated normally. The service works fine, and is showing 3 month unlimited plan. So I guess I should be all set.

thanks, When did you do it? From other razr thread, I heard ---- These phones aren't eligible for new numbers. CS rep tried to set up a new # for me. Couldn't do it.

If it lets you activate with new number its supposed to block new number and shows port required. If it works its fine and the phones will unlock since paid 3 month service.

I activated the past weekend online. Simply chose new number and it went through normally. Guess I'm lucky on this?

I went the Number Barn route before reading people were having success with just choosing a new number via Total Wireless. It was painless to buy the number for $5 but now I'm stuck waiting.
PSA - Number Barn says it will take 2-3 hours to process the number purchase, 3-7 days typically to port out - up to 10 days. 😐️
