The few food items I've purchased from Amazon on sale, have had close to expiring dates on them.

I can agree with that.

Got this exact deal a few days ago and all the chips expire May 2025. Not a big deal since we'll likely finish them within May-June anyway, but definitely worth noting. Also good to say that my experience is more like 75% getting stuff with long expiry dates vs. 25% (like now) with near expiry dates.

Yes. Almost always. 90% of the time. I got some regular ruffles last week. Expires may 3.

Reported a defective product to Amazon chat and got a refund.

Every potato chip "deals" from Amazon, near expiration, reeking smell of rancid oil, and f'ing Amazon has made it almost impossible to get credit for the crap. FU Amazon!
