Any reason to get smartwool vs darn tough?
I've had both and prefer the darn tough.

I have big/wide feet. Even the XL darn tough are too small. I've been getting the Duluth wool hiking socks recently. I think they hold up better than the Smartwool (which wear at the heel and pad area behind toes) and are pretty comfortable for hiking.
Well one reason may be that there are far more options for Smartwool than Darn Tough, the only DT socks on it were womens L (which I bought to sleep in or wear at home).
One more addition to my wonderful collection of DT socks.
Thanks to everyone who replied. I was wondering if there were any extra positives to the other options so if anyone else sees this feel free to chime in your favorite socks. I know my Rei stocks local made wool socks that have compression but very rarely those go to outlet.
I've been through a massive amount of socks and finally landed on DT. After a ton of uses and a hole formed in one, they're warranty was super easy to use.
