most consumer coffee makers wouldnt pass this test. until you start hitting the $100+ makers.

The reviews are pretty bad. Some of the positive reviews sound like they are paid.

How little amount of coffee can this make? 1 cup, 2 cup? Or rather, in ounces.

Also, Walmart seems to sell this unit for $50.

This is worse than the usual Mr.Coffee and Hamilton Beach ones.

The cheapest possible way to make a very good cup of coffee is by boiling water (via any means you like), letting it cool for a minute, and then using a manual brewing method. The cheapest manual brewing method out there that actually produces a good cup of coffee is a plastic Hario V60 pour over cone, which costs about $10 and could easily last the rest of your life. Unfortunately, there just isn't a decent automatic coffee maker for anywhere near that price.

I have found hot pots that sell for about $15. They aren't fancy, they just heat the water up to 212 ish degrees. Add in your pour over and it's a cheap coffee maker that lasts 10 years or more.

This is what I use, although my hot pots is much nicer than the basic model. But I use a carafe and filter unit from an old free coffee maker just like the one shown above. Bought a metal mesh filter 15 years ago and it's pretty inexpensive coffee maker. It's not coffee that will make people go wow, but I enjoy it.

I do a similar thing with just a chai strainer and a coffee filter on top of the mug. Question for you: how much coffee is the right amount for 8oz water?

My only issue with pour over coffee makers is that it requires more attention and effort (pouring the hot water in a spiral) compared to the 2 minutes extraction with Aeropress.

Aeropress is fast and ideal for making a 1 person serving of coffee. The poster that commented that these cheap, electric drip machines do not heat the water hit enough, was correct.
