These cable are really thick. Probably not the best to use for travel.
I hate thicker cables because they give me anxiety that they snap at the USBC connector while the cable stayed inserted and the connector stays inside.

I never heard of them and on top of it Fake spot still rewarded them a C so buy all you want 👍
People tried to inform you that Acer is a well known brand (which it is) and you can easily verify. Of course you double down.

Actually, the best laptop computer I've ever owned is an Acer. I've owned laptops from everyone over decades, but the acer (now 14 years old) still gets used almost daily. HP, Dell Lenovo, etc. all shit the bed in a few years. Acer just keeps going and it was a superior build.

How you could have never heard of Acer is mind boggling. it's almost like saying you've never heard of Toyota...

Wonder why their own Acer online store don't even sell this USB-C cable....

I feel like this is a really good price for 240W rated brand name cables. Will try on my new MBPM4
I believe macbooks don't support more than 100w charging through their usb-c ports. You need the magsafe cable to get the max rate charging

Not surprising. Go try to find an Asus branded USB cable. You cant. But they do "make" them. Old school computer hardware manufacturers brand a ton of stuff that they dont distribute through their main website. Its hard to say "why". In my opinion it has to do with the distribution process. They dont want to deal with it through their primary e-commerce/supply chain processes. Those were built for computers (and spare parts) not random usb cables etc.

I went to the Acer Gadget website and clicked on the "Global Solutions" option. It directs you to Amazon. So it looks like Acer is selling product through Amazon. Not shocking in 2025.

In this specific case, there is a third-party seller involved. All of the products are Acer branded. All USB, peripherals, etc. Its an absolute ton of stuff. I doubt that Acer would allow this volume of counterfeit sales on Amazon. Its likely how they have chosen to sell this type of product. OR they have licensed their brand.

The seller has a good rating so far and a 30 day guarantee. On $10 cables, its legit enough for me

The usb standard does support 240w as of ~2021 when pd 3.1 came out
Exactly, a 100w and 40Gbps speeds. This one is 480Mbps, good to transfer simple files only.

So, of course I'm familiar with the Acer brand from years ago for Laptops and Desktops, but Never known them to be a go to brand for cables! I would trust Anker for a USB charging cable as that's kind of the market they have been in for a while and they have stood behind their product. I've never heard of Acer making USB charge cables until seeing this on SD, so I have a feeling it's just some Chinese company licensing the "Acer" name so they can sell these cables better due to consumer brand recognition. If these cables were branded "Yozi" you probably wouldn't buy it! Unfortunately a lot of older companies license their name but the quality never matches up to what you'd expect from that brand. Like new LCD TV's being sold as 'Pioneer' but their actually a junk product from China..

You've never owned an Acer laptop? They sell them in Walmart, staples, etc… come on dude, you can't be serious. Acer has been around for a while.

I'm familiar with Acer. They probably don't manufacture these themselves, but Acer is a reputable company and they stand behind their products.
And this is a major point most people seem to skim over. The issue isn't necessarily where the product is made, or even who makes it. It is about accountability. It's about who is advertising a product as their own. A brand that is concerned about their reputation and long-term health does not want to frustrate customers and get a bad name for itself.

For companies like this, protecting their reputation is expensive. Especially if there are issues. So they are more likely to provide a better product. And if there is a problem, they are more likely to resolve it quickly. Buying something from a no-name brand on Amazon might cost a lot less, and it might perform great. But you do have a much higher chance of finding an issue with the item.

Is it worth paying more for a brand name? That depends. But IMO, having the name "Acer" stamped on the side of a cable, assuming it isn't counterfeit, does make the cable more valuable than buying something similar from a mostly unknown brand.

Well said. Applies to everything.

Except the 1980s Japanese electronics brands that are no longer, and whose names have been licensed out to Chinese junk manufacturers who slap JVC on top of crap that falls apart in a day.

Note these are for charging, not data transfer. They will provide for data, but only at "480 Megabits Per Second" per the description.
