It's great that the other posts all had great experiences. I just wanted to share my experience from the technician point of view.
I ended up picking up the Honeywell Home RENEWRTH9585WF Smart Color Thermostat (Renewed), Silver (RENEWRTH9585WF/U), and they are great! The Almost New condition ones are about $57 if you look on the Amazon Warehouse Deals, and I haven't had any issues in the past year of use.

Just wanted to share in case anyone is comparing options.
My thermostat stopped responding to voice commands from my mini's just a couple days ago. Nothing changed just something google decided to do.
Specifically, "turn thermostat on" worked for the past 3 years, now when I issue the same command it says "sorry it looks like that thermostat hasnt been set up yet"...
I can still turn on my thermostat from the google home app or the nest app, so it is set up.
On the off chance someone from google reads this, please stop breaking your smart products!
Deliberately ending support for perfectly functioning devices because hey, why not make you go buy a new one?
Do NOT buy their products, they will abandon you or **** you as soon as they can - and Google isn't unique here, it's the entire subscription/connection business model.
