The battery on this HP laptop is 53Wh just like on my Thinkpad and 5 hours of high res video seems about right in my experience.
This is on Linux though which is notorious for browsers turning off hardware decoding, Windows might be better at it.
It's also funny, when I bought the Thinkpad I wanted this HP computer for the replaceable RAM but it was during the covid shortages so I couldn't find it in stock.
Shouldn't really be a problem though but you'll be barred from doing things like running an android emulator or changing the OS from Windows to Linux.

If you want a cheap laptop for playing videos and web browsing, look for one with 11th Gen processor like the Dell latitude 5420. They are less than $200 on eBay, with a more modern graphics processor for playing modern videos.

I still wonder whats the CPU load on high res AV1 in a browser?
Linux is perfectly fine.
Edit:
Just checked and the AMD version is 70% faster than the intel one. Intel really was/is garbage.
The laptop itself is okay build construction (mine had a faulty keyboard from day 1 that they replaced), it has windows hello facial recognition (at least mine does) which is cool but it's nothing special.

I know this laptop CPU benchmarks much better than 11th Gen, but is anyone going to run benchmark all day? I think not. Web browsing is heavily single threaded and video decode dependent. Intel has much better hardware encoder and decoders.
This laptop is good for very niche use case such as programmers who need to do a lot of compile. Outside of it, either get a cheaper 11th Gen (basic needs) or a stronger computer (gaming, 3D rendering)
