I'm having a weird issue with Visible. I ordered the Pixel 9a with the promo on 4/15/25. Picked it up from UPS on 4/18/25 (missed delivery to house on 4/17/25) and activated that evening. I decided to pay for a 3rd month, so my service is active currently.

I just did a chat to ask them to unlock because when I tested with a different SIM I got a notification saying it was locked. Live agent asked me for the device IMEI. I double checked the IMEI on the box and in About Phone screen and sent it over. They keep telling me that this device is not a Visible phone and I might have made a replacement or mixing up Pixel 9a's from another provider. I have told the agent 3 times now that this my only Pixel 9a I own and I simply activated it using the Visible SIM kit that came with the phone. I'm still in the chat and being escalated to the next level of support apparently. Ugh, frustrating.

No resolution for now, but I eventually got a case number and was told they would look into it more.

It sounds like they are having a lot of issues with unlocking right now and the new policy is probably making a mess of things internally as far as technically implementing it goes, but that's just wild speculation. Hopefully support can resolve.

Just got a phone call from the Visible support team and had to walk through all the same stuff as the ~45 min online chat earlier. They asked more questions about my device and whether the package was sealed when I received it, etc. They asked me for the UPS tracking number as well. They really seem to think the device I have active on their network is not the one they sent me. In the end they just said they'd keep looking into it and provide an update in another couple business days.

They thought my phone was not Visible too. If using the automated chat to check unlock status, then check my device, it stated that I had no Visible device. I wonder if other people have the same issue.

First rep I spoke with about unlock had me provide the IMEI and order number because she didn't think I had a Visible phone.

A mammoth screwup by Visible. They are losing a lot of customers with this blunder. And hope they are getting ready to face a lawsuit now..

Purchased on 4/15; activated on 4/17. Out of town, so didn't test the unlock until today. Didn't work with an active T-Mobile sim (the 9a said contact Verizon to unlock). Spent some time on Visible Chat (Note that the rep said the phone might need to be on Wifi to unlock). Finally got the 72 business hour case number.

Got an email, right away titled "Device Unlocking", which said "We identified the problem you have been experiencing with your device unlocking. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work on a resolution. You will hear back from us within 72 business hours with an update or final resolution. If not, feel free to check in with us again in the chat."

Given the specificity of the email, it seems like they are aware of the issue.

This "specific" email?

We identified the problem you have been experiencing with your device unlocking. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work on a resolution.
I got this on June 17th and 72 hours later I got the same email again. They're definitely giving us the runaround.

My 2nd email from CS contained the following, "We want to inform you that the problem you are experiencing is a recognized error within our system. As a result, a dedicated ticket has been generated and is actively being addressed by our technical specialists. They are working diligently to identify the root cause and implement a permanent solution."

Seems like their system needs 63 days to unlock. My 60 days of service ended yesterday, and chat agent says I have 2 more full days before I can request unlocking.

That's not the agreement, plus people who signed up more than 3 days before you have been given the runaround for more than 3 days.
Here's the link for filing a FCC complaint: https://consumercomplaints.fcc.go...int-Issues There's a dedicated section under "Equipment" for "Device Unlocking".

The automated chat said I have no Visible device too. Can't even look in orders/purchase history after service expired or change any account settings

Just contacted them again, they created a case and escalated to a specialist who will contact me via email in 30-60 minutes. Let's see what happens...

Much different response than a few days ago. Getting the impression they are aware of this unlocking debacle
