Ugh, I thought I was done with this bullshit. I just ordered a 3 month eSIM from Mint and since I had tested an Xfinity Mobile physical SIM card working I assumed there would be no problem with an eSIM from another carrier. When I go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs > Add SIM > Set up an eSIM I get this message: "Contact Verizon. To set up your eSIM, you'll need to contact Verizon at (877) 807-4646."

Currently in a chat with Visible to open up a ticket for this. The 3 months is already ticking with Mint unfortunately and who knows how long Visible is going to give me the runaround with unlocking eSIM capability.

The temporary fix is to scan the eSIM QR code — it'll be added and ready to use right after.

Do you mean just scanning it directly from the camera app? For some reason I was thinking that I'd need to scan the QR code after pressing Add SIM > Set up an eSIM in Settings. I never just tried scanning the QR code directly from the camera, though. I'll test that tonight.
Visible set up a support case for me in the meantime, I'll post any updates on that here too.

Thanks for this tip. I just activated the eSIM fine by scanning the Mint Mobile QR code from my camera app.

Ticket is in progress for 3 days. Will hear from them as others have.Edit: to clarify, new e-sim still works but by not using "add sim" option. I want to be make sure it's all clear on this option too.
Did you ever hear anything back from the support team? I just got this response and it's just blatantly wrong considering I currently have a Mint Mobile eSIM active thanks to being able to scan the QR code from my camera.
The device has been unlocked. However, Pixel 9series including Pixel 9A does not support eSIM transfer even when the device is SIM-unlocked. If you wish to use your phone with another carrier, you can use physical SIM only. Thank you.

I was able to use t-mobile physical sim, and I added couple of data only e-sims using the QR code method. I'll leave this as it is now. Just have to live with physical sim for now and hope that visible will fix it programmatically in the future for devices not on their network.

The current deal is conditional on getting a $450/yr 1-year plan (as opposed to original deal which just required 1-2 months). Bummer. I got 4x of the OG deal but was looking to get two more.

Thank you for your experience. I have the same issue Did you just scan the QR code with camera app itself? I do not need to enter Set up an eSIM in Settings to scan the QR code?
