until you see the taxes and fees which you can expect to go up every single year...

For NY residents, the math would be as follow:

Phone taxes at 8.765 = $350.25/36 months or $9.73/mo

Telecom taxes and verizon fees = $12.26/mo/line x 4 = $49.04

Phone service = $120/mo

Total = $178.77/mo

First month = $178.77 + ($35 activation fee x4) = $318.77

Bill credits over 36 months. If you pay off immediately you will be paying the full price

Just did this deal a month ago when it was 16 Pro x4 and $25/line x4 with trade in (seems like this is the same deal minus $5/month for the trade in). This offer is also stackable with the up to $800 pay off offer from Verizon, which I haven't seen mentioned. So I switched 4 lines from T-Mobile where I was paying $25/line with 4x iPhone 14 on promo credit to this deal, you do not have to trade in the same phones that Verizon pays off (unlike T-Mobile which requires you to trade in the payoff phones) so I traded in an iPhone 4S, iPhone SE, and two iPhone 7. I did this deal over the phone where they waived the $35 activation fees and submitted a $200 credit request to match the online gift card offer.Pros: I got 4 16 Pros for basically trading in 4 junk phones. Also got to keep 4 unlocked iPhone 14 that I will give to family or sell. BS fees about the same for both carriers where I live ($4.50 a line).Cons: They will hose you on the autopay discount if you do not set it up Day 1 (T-Mobile did the same). Service and coverage is definitely worse than the lowest cost T-Mobile plan at least where I live in Midwest.
Also, if you are worried about the 3 year contract just know that at least T-Mobile, AT&T, and Spectrum will pay off installment plans to switch. Although if you use the $800 pay off offer from Verizon you have to stay with them for at least 6 months. Phones automatically unlock after 60 days of service.

Taxes and fees got me to switch from ATT to TMobile. I guess Verizon will be as bad. For example. My cellular watch SERVICE at ATT was $ 10.50 per line plus another $ 4.50 admin and taxes per line. We have two. That's $ 30 per month. I pay TMobile a total of $ 10.50 for cell service on two watches. That's $ 10.50 total, not $ 10.50;each. No tax or admin fees.

We are a family of two and the cellular doesn't count. In other words, you still pay $ 120 for 4 lines plus the cellular line cost. Who decided watch lines don't count?

Good luck on adm and taxes on each of the four lines,

Yeah so monthly bill minimum is $176 because of $120 plan plus $60 in fees ? So 5 lines is almost 200 with taxes ?

I used to get $5 tax per line for all 7lines . You monthly total plan cost be $25+$120

Dumb questions: Does "$999.99 purchase on device payment or at retail price required" mean that you have to buy the phone on top of the $120/month? If not, then 120 x 36 is $4320, which is roughly the cost of 4 iPhones... which would seemingly make this a very slick deal.
How likely is the monthly bill going stay at roughly $120/month?
What happens if you want to upgrade one or two of the phones to 256GB?

Okay, so i need 2 lines, and am interested in iphone 16 pro. What is the best option for that? I don't really need 4 lines, or 4 devices, but it seems like the cost is higher with half the lines.

How do I go about getting the $800 pay off from Verizon for the phone? Where is that within the steps?

Hi

On T-Mo Next Plan which started last year. Do I have to pay off the phones at T-Mo to get on this promo from verizon or is there any promo where verizon can take care of partial or full balance amount as part of swicthing carriers ? Is there any promo of such kind or all carriers stopped doing that?

Appreciate your input.

Thanks

No, you can't. I tried that before but they told me, I am locked for 36 months or I will pay the full amount without discount($1299).
Are you able to get your phone unlocked while you are on a 36 month period?

Port out for 60 days for whichever company offers the best port deal.
Then return for whatever deal looks good for new customers. There is zero reason for loyalty.

I'm not sure how you do it online, but when I did it over the phone the service rep sent a link that I had to upload my most recent T-Mobile bill to. I've heard and seen that if you do not get this link when placing your initial order you will definitely not get the up to $800 rebate. So you have to make sure you get that piece right when placing the order!

So it is just $800 covered for one account no matter how many lines are there in the account, or is it $800 per line ?

$800 per port per line, up to 12 ports

Thank you @LukeTheDuke1515 for the tip about $800 port in credit.
I was able to do it via chat. Same thing, they had to send me a link to upload bill.
My story:
Been on Tmobile for many years now. 4 lines ~$150 including 1 line w iPhone 16Pro Max (still $850 to pay off), just switched over to Verizon today
3 lines of Welcome, 1 line of Ultimate
  • $800 port in credit to pay off existing Tmobile phone
  • $1000 trade in for iPhone 13 Pro on 1 line
  • $200 GC back via rebate
  • $35x 4 ($140) credit on first bill for activation
In a nutshell, going from $150ish to about $200 a month. 3 lines will be slower (25Mbps 5G threshold for Welcome plan) but all brand new phones (iphone 16 Pros and 1 line has 16 ProMax), includes Apple One, Google One (that alone is $20 a month, which I was already paying for separately).
