Long time customers of Xfinity get shafted. I pay $65/month just for 300mbps Internet, even though I also have xfinity mobile. Thinking of canceling because I also have Astound 300 Mbps at $20 a month, and it's fiber.
Paying for two internet providers is pretty dang wasteful I would have never done that myself unless I needed redundancy for something work related, but nothing is that important in most cases.

I pay $54 for 150Mbps and unlimited data, after a recent negotiation that saw my bill double to over $85 for the exact same service... Yes I had to talk to retention, but I could care less about keeping the service so either it was around $50 or it was out the door. I keep unlimited data because game downloads are huge now a days so you can easily go over that 1.2TB data cap so I just keep it just incase or else I would be paying $44 without the unlimited data.

Astound here also offers $20/mo but the catch is the mandatory "network access and maintenance fee" adds $16.93/mo making it almost double what they advertise. YMMV, it depends on the market.
My Astound service does not require the "network access and maintenance fee" like yours. I only pay a flat $20/month.

Know xfinity offers a single 'grace' month per 12 month period on their 1.2TB data cap.

Personally waited until I had my first month going over before opting in for unlimited data upgrade.

Then once it drops off rinse and repeat. Saves me $40-50/year.

Oddly enough the time I did go over was downloading my entire xbox library to a new external drive. COD alone is 300GB+

Do not get baited into getting a promo device from xfinity mobile.

They specifically make them free with 24 monthly service credits where you lose the credit if you try to pay the device off early. That way after the single year of free xfinity mobile you're stuck either paying off half the value of the device or starting to pay for service at $40+regulatory fees&taxes every month for another year.

The $50 savings a year while great, is not worth the headache of being on the phone with their customer service. Also I regularly went over that data cap multiple times in one year in the past so I knew its better to just have it, as you mentioned COD alone is huge!

I'm getting 180 Mbps for $30/month. More than most people need, even with a home lab.

For single household perhaps but not for a family of four unless nobody streams.

180 Mbps is plenty even if everyone is streaming 4k content. 1080p uses like 5 Mbps and 4k 30 Mbps. So 4 people all streaming 4k is still only using 120 out of 180 Mbps bandwidth.

Latency is a bigger issue imo than download or upload speeds.

I really don't know what people need Gig speeds for.

Very true.
150 mbs plan with a very low latency connection here. My home office running Citrix, teams, at least two phones on WiFi and two 4k streams all at the same time with no issues.

Family of four over here. Plenty of YouTube streaming but any movies or TV shows are through my Plex server. Also, we don't isolate and all watch different content. Since we're a family we hang out together and watch shows together. Only one TV is on in the house at a time, and only when it's dark out. No daytime TV. So, that may have an impact. On the other hand, I do run a photo website out of the house. It's plenty active, though that is mostly upstream bandwidth (I get about 40 Mbps up).
