Be cautious. Great products. But almost certainly on the target list for either tariff based bans or "national security" bans. Switches probably safe since the rarely require much updated. WiFi aps and other app configured devices at higher risk of losing capability if not full out bricking. Again. LOVE the products and use them all over but risk is quite elevated. And IMHO why we are seeing so many great discounts.

I wonder if the credit is applied to the BE5000 multi packs or just to the order of 1 unit.... Dual band only but should still work great, and its a non factor if you plan to do wired backhaul.

Sorry Chicken little, but the risk is nearly none existent for those that actually pay attention and not just regurgitate opinions. I am not going to spend time retyping it all so here is a copy and paste. As for so many great discounts thats been the norm even before covid for TP-Link, one of the main reasons the other brands and their lobbyist are pushing hard to make people think they are going to get banned....

"Even IFFFF they were to get banned which looks unlikely since its been "getting banned" for over a few years now due to chicken littles, it would not leave users in a lurch. The equipment on day 1 would not magically stop working, it would work and continue to work, the only thing that might stop is future firmware updates... Now to show how unlikely the ban is from happening, recently in the south multiple military bases just got remodeled and updated, what equipment did they use TP-LINK, lol.

The concern never was about spying, its about the profit they are chipping away from other manufactures who are charging ridiculous amounts for the exact same equipment, its those manufactures lobbies pushing for the ban so they have excuses to raise their prices even more...

Even more to dispel the ridiculousness of a ban, TP-Link has started a new parent company which is operated outside of China with a global HQ now based in Irvine California.... The process which has already started will cost the company a few hundred million to completely seperate themselves from the fake narrative of china spyware blah blah blah, but they are doing it along with complying to any request from the US government."

I saw a youtube video the other day where an excellent point was made that if you only use and configure TP-link products as "access points" behind another brand of main gateway then then this is really not a concern since the main gateway will be your security gate. I have no opinion on whether TP-Link products are easily breached because my gateway is not TP-Link, but TP-Link products make for excellent cost-effective access points to be placed throughout the home.

I just put it into my cart and get 20% credit for the two-pack:
"Prime Card Bonus Offer: Get 5% Back, and additional 15% Back on the amount charged to this card" Hence it would be $72 each + tax for the two pack...

Thats a really good price for wifi 7 mesh, thanks for looking into that. Not a big savings over getting just 1 but even that $3 is something if you buy enough of them. If I didnt still have 5 of the linksys wifi 6 tribands for $15 BNIB from the woot deal this would be a great pickup for new setups with larger homes.

By the way, how do the Linksys perform so far? Mine are not good, disconnect so often and the speed is overwhelming too...Wondering if there's something I can do to make it perform better....

Have two setup in one home, and two in another, and one in an apartment. All working fine. Took awhile for the two mesh to see each other wirelessly because it didnt mention in the instructions that you will usually have to reboot to see the change of status. Outside of that speeds are what I expected on a 1gig line getting around 700-800 Mbps when few devices are online. When the house is busy spreads to love to around 300-500. In my apt where I only get 150Mbps service I get the full amount and since only a couple of devices its usually consistent.

If they keep disconnecting you either have them too far apart, or you have one of them next to something that is possibly making it disconnect by blasting RF interference in its area. Make sure they are not near house phones, sound bars, microwaves, or Bluetooth speakers. I haven't tried it but you can also just try to use wired backhaul, if its just a wireless disconnect problem from the other unit. Worse case scenario you might have a bad unit so use the warranty and get a replacement.

So if I already have 3 WiFi 6 TP-Link routers with wired backhaul working well that include the parental controls, would I just configure these WiFi7s as APs behind those? Or is the subscription for the new router's parental controls that much better?

I have my amz prime Visa card set as my payment choice, but I still see the $99 price at the order screen. Is there anything else I need to do to get the discount?

You'll receive the discount in the form of cashback applicable to a future purchase, not as an upfront discount on the product.

The additional Amazon CB on TP-Link products is an on again/off again promotion that runs often enough that it's worth waiting for it to come around if you can wait to purchase.

I have the same question and I have 4x M9+ TP link system hardwired back-hauled . I believe it would be best to keep the M9+ as the main until to get the free Homecare and not have to pay for Homeshield.
