I did a quick test run and it looks like Spirit silver isn't worth it. Frontier Gold matches to silver in spirit.

Frontier is one of the worst airlines operating in the states - almost every flight I've flown with them has been delayed or canceled/rescheduled.
Perhaps if it this was for a free check-in bag it might be good, but they are beyond sticklers when it comes to measuring size of carry-on bag and personal items; the gate agents actually get a bonus for every person they reject and are able to coerce to purchase the oversize fee at the gate.
Given this "deal" is only 7ish months too makes it sketch too.
Frontier is the absolute farking worst. I went on a trip last spring and had two checked bags for my wife and I. we arrived over two hours before our flight. It took over an hour to get through the bag check line, during which frontier staff were pushing people to the front based on their flight time. I asked several times "hey I am on X flight, I am worried I will not be able to check my bag in time. Is this the right line? Should i be expedited?"
Got to the front, and low and behold they couldn't get me on (58 minutes until flight). Only option was to rebook to a city 4 hours away, and get a rental. They offered no refund at the counter/credit for the original flight, and added "counter assistance" booking fees for each of our tickets. I was livid, but had no choice as this was a vacation and I couldn't cancel the whole thing. The hilarious part is the counter agent took so damn long that it was now less than an hour to the second flight, but she was able to call someone and get the bags on. Wouldn't it have been nice to do that in the first place?
Walked by my original flight before boarding started. Bullshit.
Reached out to support after who offered 2x $50 vouchers...
Never again will i fly frontier. fark them to friday and back.
American express took care of me thankfully.
I had already purchased a ticket on Thursday for today with miles (5k +$5.60 tax) and was able to choose new seats last nite about An hour after I upgraded.
I was able to add two exit row seats atl-dfw/dfw-san and that's worth my $40.
With Free aisle seats (potentially) I'll be more inclined to fly them till the end of the year.

And then I just upgraded to 2c on both, but we're an hour delayed...
I have an upcoming frontier trip. I was about to spend $60 on a carry-on but saw this. Saves me $20!
Edit: Does anyone know if the free carry-on feature is attached to status, or do I need to select it when I purchased the ticket in the first place? Meaning I already bought a ticket without a free carry-on, can I still get a free carry-on with the status?

Yes, this is correct. It is tied to the status so if you have a future booking and now you have the status it should refresh to $0 for a carry on and seat selection. One thing to note, the perks are just for you not for the entire booking. Each flyer would need the gold status for the benefits.

Last minute pricing can't be topped in my experience these past few years atl-san
other added benefit is you are less likely to be a victim of their frequent schedule / route changes, as they seem to add and drop routes frequently based on performance.
I never book more than 30 days out, so have not encountered this problem but if you are on a newer / thin / unproven route booking 3-6 months out you risk having it canceled and then you are rebooked on to some ridiculous connection.

I purchased a round trip for me and my husband before I paid for the Elite Gold Status, and the customer service said that I couldn't change the seats, the carry-on bag, or anything more with this new status. Could someone help me with it? I will travel next Wednesday.

Is each of your Frontier Mile IDs tied to your passenger name in the reservation?
I would go back to the reservation and edit it and it should absolutely let you edit the seats or add a carry on for $0. I did it myself on a reservation I bought a few weeks ago and fly out in June.
For me, the whole point of taking Frontier flights is to save as much money as possible. I have a backpack that fits perfectly in that personal item measuring box, so maybe this option would work for someone who plans on taking a carry-on once or twice this year. This reminds me of their all-you-can-eat pass, as it turns out it doesn't work very well. I'm still a big fan of Spirit Airlines and Frontier, especially since I frequently travel between ATL and ORD. A couple of drinks at the Centurion Lounge before your flight make cheap flights more enjoyable. I'm always eagerly anticipating a fight or argument between fellow travelers.
Frontier is saying I needed to be a SW member before 4/15/2025 not 4/16/2025 to get this deal. WTF. I thought I had a SW reward number - even when I tried to create one today it said I already had an account. I ended up creating a new SW account today - 4/16/2025. When I went to the link above it gives me an error. I spent 1 hour chatting with Frontier online rep and they said I couldn't take advantage of this deal since I just signed up for SW just today. Frack Frontier - and sadly I purchased their Go-Wild pass. With baggage check in fees I probably won't fly much.
I just signed my wife up with a brand new Southwest Airlines account, then a new Frontier account. I then applied for the status match promotion and was immediately approved. 🤷🏻 ♂️We just booked our first flight and can confirm we were both able to choose seats and carry-on at no additional cost

Yeah - actually mine went through as well - but at a later date. All good on my end. I signed up for the Go Wild deal at Frontier - need to take advantage of this - add the ability to have a free carry on is big.
