What are you seeing as the advantages of the pro?

Durability and better blade variety for my needs is what finally sold me. When looking at reviews of the two (for way too long I might add) I was on the fence and finally decided the Pro was more of what I needed.
Both units look to be exceptional, motor power similar, but the latter simply seemed to fit my needs better.

This is the food processor that America's Test Kitchen recommends.

Which model? 11 or 13?

Not OP, but the answer is neither. They recommend a 14-cup model - DFP-14BCNY. $200 on Amazon new.

I'm gonna have to pass on this. A quick glance at reviews has me concerned about the longevity of this product.

11 cup is the one to have. They've been making it for at least 3 decades, spare parts are still easily obtainable. Mine is a hand me down from a friend who got it as a hand me down from her mother. Use it at least weekly.

The one of the patches on the bowl has a crack, I should probably replace it at some point, but that's pretty good for something with a 1998 date on it.

The 11 cup Pro is a Chinese copy of the Japanese-made 11 cup DLC-8 Plus and its variants which have given up to 30 years of service. Complaints of premature work bowl failure on the Chinese abound. Thi purports to come with a "3 yr CPS extended warranty" whatever that might be worth. Cuisinart warranty is only 90 days.

IDK if Cuisinart has resolved the defect in the bowls and lid. Those who process regularly say that they are glad to have switched to Breville or Robot Coupe. The light duty KtchenAidd Contour which I have tried is great for light slicing and shredding but also has work bowls which don't last. K-A sent free replacements.

I think they recommend both. The Pro 11 cup as the overall best food processor and the 13 cup as the best budget one.
