You're clearly referring to the Chromecast, not the Google Streamer (which replaced the Chromecast just last year). It might be a good idea to focus on the product that you're complaining about (vs. confusing it with a different product).

There is a new Onn device (Onn 4K Plus) coming out with a S905X5M chip but it only has 2GB of ram which is a deal breaker for me. I am currently waiting for a US variant of something like the Waipu.tv box that has the S905X5M chip, 4GB of ram, Ethernet, USB-A support and Netflix certification.

Been looking at the cheap N100 PCs and thinking there has to be some distribution that could run these TV UI functions.

You can use this as a usb media player using a usb c adapter with power delivery and play just about anything using media players apps like kodi.

Thank you for sharing! They already responded to my request and stated I have to wait until I receive the item to request the price adjustment. Google TV streaming devices offer a few advantages over something like a Roku or a Fire TV. It lets you side load apps (Fire TV does too but can be more difficult.) You can also install custom launchers so that you aren't bombarded with ads every time you turn your TV on.

Note that the Google Streamer only supports Dolby Atmos passthrough with Dolby Digital Plus and does not have support for TrueHD. This is probably only an issue if you have an Atmos surround sound and are ripping your own BluRays with TrueHD Atmos.
