I picked it up solely for game preservation purposes. If it matters to you or anyone, the games are complete on disc according to DoesItPlay.

I'm going to start saying game preservation now in place of hoarding.

This is on my Steam wishlist because it looked cool

Lowest Nioh 1 is $8.49 (currently on fanatical) but was also given away on Epic in September 2021

Lowest Nioh 2 is $20.89 if you don't take into account it was in Humble Choice March 2024.

Any advantages to the $20 PS5 copy aside from saving $9 and it being the remaster?

We do what we must!

On a serious note, I tend to collect physical copies of stuff I really like and have played. But collections—especially ones "I'll probably play" is hard to resist.

Great combat system, IMO better than From software's. Team ninja made the ninja gaiden series. First of Berserker of Khazan took a lot of their ideas from Nioh. I love the diablo like loot system with prefixes suffixes and set bonuses. One of the few souls like I actually end up completing.

There is a steep early learning curve to the combat in both of these, but I once I got comfortable with it all, it's some of the most satisfying combat I've ever experienced.

As a counter point of view, I don't like these games. I gave them plenty of time but they never stopped feeling frustrating and overwhelming to me. Also, in the first one especially, there is way too much repetition and reuse of levels. And the second one just has way too much going on and too many systems at play to keep track of.

I remember snagging this on clearance at Walmart for like $4 a good 3 years or so ago. Probably the only time a YMMV thing has worked out for me .

I have beaten every Souls game and Elden RIng, Bloodborne but Nioh is the most difficult game ever created. Makes it unenjoyable.

This includes the 3 DLCs that are not included in the free PS5 upgrade.

Best action game of the decade! So much better than the shitty From games. They show you don't to make control sluggish and the camera stupid to create a challenging game. For anyone who thinks it's worse than Souls simply needs to learn how to take advantage of Ki Pulse because without using it, this game is just as bad as the From games.

Same price Playststion Direct had it over Black Friday. It's when I picked my copy up.

The games are hard (as someone who doesn't really play Souls games), but are gorgeous and fun to play!

This is part of the reason I cut down on most physical Media. The lack of space to keep the movies and games is the main reason I made the switch to mostly digital.
