Both games are great, and at $10 each, this is a steal.
They are both in the genre of "souls-likes"with their own spin, that is, they borrow the basic play style of FromSoft's Demons'/Dark Souls-type games; one of the core aspects of this genre is that the games all have a fairly high difficulty, and you will die LOTS of times, so just keep that in mind.
Level design is certainly a step down from the games that inspired the series (particularly in the first title), but the combat mechanics are excellent and quite complex, and if you have any interest at all in Japanese history, this series, despite having a hefty fantasy tilt, is one of only a handful of action games that put you right up close to various historical figures (Samurai Warriors, while fun in its own way, is ironically more fantastical than these games with actual monsters and spirits).

Bit misleading to still call this "The Nioh Collection" when it's missing Nioh 3. Yeah, I know this released before 3, but it's still misleading. What will they call the version with all three? The Complete Collection?
You negated your own comment by admitting it came out before 3. What are they gonna do, recall every copy out there and change the name? It's still, by definition, a collection, because it's more than one game. There's absolutely nothing misleading about it.

If you're into throwing your controller, waking neighborhood dogs up at night with ungodly streams of obscenities, and cramming toothpicks under your fingernails for fun, you'll love it.

Thanks, I have the PS4 version of the first game and yet to play it from PSPlus Essential and was considering getting the expansion pack or not before I play it. This seems like a better move. Got it from Best Buy, free shipping.
