If you are gentle it actually works well. But if you are not, don't get this. Broken one of mine already so not buying anymore of these.
Switched to the dash mount type and has been solid and worry free.

All new cars have android Auto or apple car play so it's a hard sell for a universal mount
The operating system has nothing to do with if a mount will hold a phone. Lol.
What? How does a car having Android Auto and/or Apple Car Play relate to a car having a universal phone mount?
