I've been piecing together my 5.1.2 (maybe 5.1.4) setup as I build out my basement entertainment room. The 10" is perfect for my needs and this looks like the lowest price I've seen it.

So, this RP-1000 for $400 or the RSL Speedwoofer 10S for $450?

What say you?

Is this a good idea if I have upstairs neighbors who work the night shift?

Keep in mind that the amps in Klipsch subs have an unusually high failure rate after the first year.

And I'm being diplomatic about that - they try to sing along with the music but don't know the words so they just hum. Loudly.

Yes, you should absolutely get a subwoofer. They'll love you for it!

Consider size, weight, space and the acoustic environment. Depends on whether you need to worry about the spouse/neighbor/neighborhood acceptance factor. Coming from all-in-one systems this already dwarfs everything I've ever had and shakes a decent sized open concept space.
