It honestly doesn't matter for style, they are both great guitars and there's a reason they've been around so long (and are both very popular). Go with whatever catches your eye the most or feels the best. A strat is probably a more flexible option if you had to pick based on that alone. Or get a nashville tele and live the best of both worlds.

Agree with whatever feels the best. Solid body Tele's are a definitely heavier too.
I also have a Player Strat and an Ultra II Meteora. In many respects I think this Tele is the versatile of the 3. The tones you get from the 3-way switch on the Tele just seem more distinct from each other.
This is a great guitar and the prices probably aren't going to get any cheaper in the coming years.
