Quite a good price
Black levels and picture preference is subjective, but 10 inches is 10 inches 😄
Except for the better picture processing and accuracy of the Sony X93L...there are things that the Hisense U8N does better. Black levels and brightness specifically

Its literally a numeric difference like 10 inches is
I suspect that buyer of this TV is not common and they are looking for the best of the best
I cant see them returning, unless they get buyers remorse and just truly cant afford it
Other than that, this Tv is somewhat in a class( and price range) by itself
But with the filter i see two things. Sony's magic anti reflection kicks in, and you see almost zero light sources if you are directly in front of the set. And the tv is no longer a black mirror, so you are no longer watching yourself watching the movie, with your white socks.
And as a bit of copeium, contrast ratios are a bit weird. They goto infinity pretty quick. So you can have OLED with 500k contrast, that can completely turn off, then barely light up. it will be completely unwatchable in anything but the darkest room. Meanwhile you can have an old school lcd with 1000 contrast, it makes you puke with the greyblacks in a dark room, but perfect for daily use.
So in the case of the sony mini leds, i think they are around 70k contrast, but if they can make the leds twice as bright (going from 1000 nits to 2000 or even 3000 like the qm8) they magically get to 250k contrast, but your eyes will bleed.
That said the Bravia 7 looks really good in person if you don't want to mess with a potential hassle. The viewing angles are fine too IMO assuming you don't need ultra wide viewing (get an OLED if so). Either option at that 1200ish price point is a good option (or the somehow still in stock x93 75 if you need/want bigger).
Can also get a C4 65 at that price if like me you need truly excellent wide angle viewing (almost plasma like) and top dark room performance. All are great options.
Says there is one at a store about an hour away from me
