theres also already been exclusions for electronics and even the dumbest administration knows that getting blamed for not being able to buy phones or Nintendo systems is dumb. at the end of the day there's probably going to be a 10% tariff that sticks especially beyond China and especially to popular consumer electronics. The big companies can shift production to India or Vietnam for the US market somewhat easily. Companies were already diversifying outside of China due to the risks. The US will not win many factory jobs from these tariffs and it will slow GDP growth, but the one benefit is escalating the transition to less adversarial countries in India and SE Asia. Mexico might even benefit since it's a safer bet due to NAFTA and if you want to decrease immigration better economic growth in Mexico is a good way. Although tariffs promoting jobs in Mexico is a political loser it shouldn't be. An economically stronger Mexico is the best hope we have to tackle the Cartels and border crossings.

Say what you want about the price or value proposition, but it is not just "slightly better" internal hardware. This a significant jump up.

I remember Digital Foundry going deep into the potential chip used on the Switch 2. The Switch 1 is a Tegra T1 used, which comes from the Nvidia shield. it's supposed to be like a Xbox One S capable but it really pulled its own weight well. The Switch 2 uses a T239 chip and the closest thing equivalent to that in graphics is a underclocked RTX 2050. They did a graphics comparison and it was more like a PS4 pro or Xbox One Series S graphics. I think the graphical capability will be better than a ROG Ally's Z1 chip. But even at just graphics on the PS4 level, it is quite a technical feat when there has to be a lot of power efficiency to keep the system running on battery. There's no confirmation of the chip being a Tegra T239 but we'll find out during launch when youtubers or DF dissect the console internals. In the end though, the console can end up being so underpowered again like the Switch 1 was but the only thing that matters how many quality games will release on it.

- finally a real Street Fighter game
- looking forward to Elden Ring
Cons:
-Digital Key cards in lieu of physical cards? WTF
-$90 physical games? $80 digital games? lol
-uh….imagine playing with these hardware specs in 2033 (8 years from now, projected lifespan of the Switch 2).
-games….wtf. Where are the games? What is Nintendo doing with all that money? Hoarding it instead of reinvesting into the company? How about come out with some creative titles, instead of rehashed games from 30-40 years ago and reselling it to the brain dead consumers?
With that said, I'll probably try to preorder one and "borrow" (until I sell it) to play my RPGs with until we're price-gorged with the inevitable S2 OLED later down the line.
