If your serious about fitness, Garmin is it. It' also has the best battery life
great deal for a great watch.

only overshadowed by the fact that garmin released the instinct 3 earlier this year, but i'm curious how the 3's amoled screen affects visibility and battery life, because my 2's mip screen is very crisp and more readable than my fr255 (though, admittedly, not an amoled screen) and a single charge lasts for 2-4 weeks (using GPS for 30 minutes a day).

i bought mine at costco.com 1½ years ago for this price (ie one-time sale) and as a runner it was one of the best deals (eg bang for the buck) coming from a fr245.

i favor my instinct 2 functionally over my fr255, but prefer the slimmer appearance of my fr255 (as the instinct 2 is a little bulkier). i wish i could transplant the instinct 2 display into the fr255, as they otherwise mainly function the same.

Had an instinct solar, then got epix pro 2, waiting on a sale on the color instinct 3. Definitely love the flashlight and the screen customizations with a full screen vs older instincts, and battery life of instincts. I have no need for maps or touchscreen

I see. Any reason you didn't get the Apple Watch or Android variant? Curious to hear your thoughts on that

100% agreed. battery lasts 3-4 weeks vs apple watch and much more intuitive and easier to use when tracking fitness

It depends on priorities. Apple watches and Android watches work seamlessly with their respective phones and are almost like having a mini phone on your wrist. Battery life is usually only a day or so. Garmin is more focused on fitness and outdoor activities such as hiking or trail running. The battery life can last weeks and it can act more independent of your phone, with accurate GPS where there is no cell service.

These threads make me reconsider saving up for the ultra 2 when I can't exercise much due to health so I'm just a walking monster. Spending 600 bucks to walk sounds pretty lame but I like how they look. I am intrigued about garmin they look great too.

I used to hookah dive to scrape barnacles off of boat bottoms. Was under saltwater for 8 hours every day and smacked my arm on docks, propellers, broken shells, you name it. This thing has taken an absolute beating and is still kicking, love it.

I'm so tempted but my Garmin Instinct (ESport) I got for $89 is still going strong after 2+ years. The 3-week battery life on these watches are simply unmatched!
