For the price, you're probably better off asking for a discount on a regular Player II unless you're desperate for 3 pickups.

Yeah I agree. Some of the Player Plus I've seen for under $550 because they're from a discontinued line. I'd recommend waiting for a player 2 deal or waiting until player plus goes lower.

I think the last good tele deal I saw was maybe a year ago when they were clearing out player BSBs at pro audio star for $550. The later player models have slightly more rolled edges than earlier players, though not as rolled as the Player II's. I had a 90s mim sunburst that I never really bonded with, and I really love BSB, so I bought that and sold the burst for $400. Easy swap and saved me the trouble of having to buy new pickups.

How so? The Player Plus is still a higher specced guitar than a Player II since it comes with noiseless pickups and locking tuners. This Tele also has a belly cut and a flatter 12" fingerboard radius which may or may not appeal to some players.

I bought this from Amazon when they had a better sale several years ago. Beautiful high quality guitar. This is a great price.

I think noiseless and belly cuts are a matter of taste. You'll prob know if you want those features. If not, I don't think this is an amazing deal vs a player II.

I have the Squier Paranormal version of this and love it. Swapped the pickups out with a custom Bootstraps (Pretzel Bridge, Sun City Mid and Extra Crispy Neck) and upgraded the switch, pots and endpin jack. I probably should have just bought the Fender version but I got it during one of the last Fender sales on a whim. It's amazing

This is a nice guitar. I'd take it over a player ii. Specs are better too.

I got one as well on that Amazon deal. Fantastic guitar! The burst looks so much better in person. The Satin neck with the rolled edges is the best feeling of any guitar I own. Looks great, feels and plays great, top shelf features!
