From what I've read, the issue with the B650M previous bundle was that it was using discrete MOSFETs. I believe this board uses power stages, so it should be better.

Does this board have the same weak af VRM like the B650M from a previous Newegg bundle?

Ditto ? 0n the above

Perplexity gave me this result. For what it's worth

Voltage Problems with GIGABYTE B850M GAMING X WIFI6E
Common Voltage-Related Issues
• Users have reported boot issues (such as the DRAM red light staying on and failure to POST) with this motherboard, often linked to memory compatibility or BIOS settings rather than a direct voltage regulator failure.
• The motherboard uses a 10+2+2 twin digital VRM design, which should provide stable power delivery for supported CPUs.
• If you experience voltage problems (e.g., instability, failure to boot, or random shutdowns), these are often related to:
• Incorrect power supply voltage (ensure your PSU matches your local voltage standard).
• Outdated BIOS, which can cause instability or poor memory compatibility—updating the BIOS has resolved issues for some users.
• Improper installation of RAM or CPU, or faulty components

The B650m board is 5+2+2, this one is 10+2+2, which is significantly better. Sort of a middle of the road VRM performance.

Using mosfets that are spec'd properly is perfectly acceptable.

There are issues reported with 9800X3D blowing up on certain boards, but the root cause has not been identified yet. So nobody really knows at this point. Seems to be more of an AMD issue than a motherboard issue. If you were planning to get the 9800X3D, maybe get a high-end motherboard to match it for peace of mind. For lower TDP CPUs like 9700X, I think this motherboard would suffice. Then again, you are taking a chance given the negative reviews.

You've got a fairly good PC, try to get a 5070 Ti. It's the very best value in my opinion right now if you can find one at 750 bucks. Maybe try to get a 5800X3D second hand or a 5700X3D (but that won't be very good value). Would still be a very good gaming PC until the next round of CPUs come around they're going to blow the 9800X3D out of the water. But in the end, it all depends what kinds of resolutions you're playing at. The higher the resolution, the less intensive it will be on your CPU (with some outlier CPU intensive games as the exception), as well as what kinds of frame rates you're expecting to hit.

If you want higher refreshrate gaming then your CPU would be a better upgrade. If you want 4K gaming with all the RT effects and global illumination stuff then your GPU would be a better upgrade. Both you cpu and gpu are old enough to see meaningful improvements without going top of the line.
As suggested, easiest would be grab a 5600x3d/5700x3d/5800x3d cpu drop-in upgrade then buy either the 9070xt or 5070ti; or the best used $700 gpu you can buy.

Honestly Id chuck that 3600 and jump on this board with a 9xxx chip, x3d is you have the cash. My 3600 was starting to affect my performance at 3440x1440 yours probably is too.

Especially in the super highly optimized UE5 titles /s.

Sorry. Noob question: has anyone had success with setting up expo in their BIOS with this Team T-Force Delta RAM? It doesn't look like its on AMD's QPL (which I understand most memory isn't)
https://www.amd.com/en/products/p...emory.html
but Team T-Force's site seems to suggest that its only XMP compatible (lists compatibility = intel 7000 series).
https://www.teamgroupinc.com/en/p...0HC30DC01/
On the other hand Newegg displays AMD expo in the product pictures. That's is where my lack of experience comes into play. It seems like the free RAM makes the deal, but is it EXPO compatible? If not, is it still a deal with out EXPO? Am I overthinking this?
