Finally Watched This Recently,

Seeing as the sequel just went to streaming. It was waaaaayyyyy better than I expected. Great flick. Smilie

Pantera sucked so bad. Had like 1-2 action scenes and barely any action in them. Slow dragged out sequel.

I was just trying..."to be nice"...I guess. Stick Out Tongue

And poor Michael Bisping. I guess he was telling all his mates how he was going to some kind of focal point in the sequel​, and they TOTALLY bailed on any of that. His bit of it anyways.

Yeah same, this movie was pretty good and the sequel was kind of crap. Like it wasn't the worst movie I saw last year, but it definitely lost a lot from the original.

They tried to be clever like the original but it ended up being just annoying.

This movie had its moments and I would recommend it a watch. One of the issues I had with this movie is how all the characters are just caricatures, particularly Gerald Butler's. It feels all one-dimensional and absolutely no depth and by the end of the movie, [spoiler alert!!] I can't help but feel that the entire thing was just a cheap imitation of The Usual Suspects.

I did not even think they were trying to be clever. If felt solely as a bridge for the yet to be made 3rd movie. As other said it is not bad but it is not what was great about the first Den of Thieves movie.

Also i watched this directors cut and while i do not hate it, the extra scenes are unnecessary and given a choice i would do the theatrical cut. However as the directors cut is the only UHD option i will be watching the directors cut from now on.

Like the OP I have the theatrical release in HD, bought for cheap in a bundle.
The director's cut adds an additional 8 min of footage. I don't care much for UHD on this particular movie. Is it worth rebuying? What was cut out?

I don't see 4k at Apple but it shows 2 versions currently for $5, I'm guessing the theatrical and director's cuts. Non-MA.

I finally got around to watching both of them as well. My take was the complete 180; although I wouldn't say the second one Pantera was great, it was worlds better than the first one. First one just seems unoriginal, like it would've been a slam dunk if it came out '95, but just screamed low budget "Heat" or something.

The sequel sucked because Merrimen made the entire first movie. Pablo was excellent in that movie.
