I recommend using privacy-dot-com virtual credit card numbers with companies like this. Their customer service is horrendous. I had to do a chargeback eventually to get a refund.

I ended my service and deleted my eSIM. They kept charging me. But the only way to log back in is by getting a code texted to your Lyca number. I didn't have Lyca anymore to get one!

On another occasion I hit submit more than once, because the website wasn't responding. So I got charged twice, there. (Turn off any ad-blocking when you sign up, that should help.)

I'm happy with Infimobile. I simply paid for a yearly sim card, and don't have to give them any re-curring payment info.

I can't believe all of you who successfully ported out! I lost a long term, valued number due to their ineptitude. Never again.

It's not that hard.. took me 10 minutes. All they ask is for 2 phone numbers you've called during your billing cycle.

YMMV. Another poster wrote that they requested two most frequently called numbers.

The customer service suck for lyca. Be aware that if you want to change to a different line or plan afterward. You have to wait 30 mins, and then they will try to convince you or beg you not to leave indirectly. I liked Tello, everything can be changed from the app, for example, you can change your plan every month according to your needs. I have been a Lyca customer for more than 5 years. I am happier with Tello. They both used the T-Mobile network.

Poor Customer Service: Many customers describe the customer service as unresponsive, unhelpful, or even rude. Reaching support is often difficult, and when contact is made, issues are rarely resolved satisfactorily.
Coverage and Service Problems: Users frequently complain about unreliable coverage, dropped calls, and slow or non-functional data, even in major cities like Chicago. Some report that the service is nearly unusable indoors or in certain neighborhoods.
Billing and Refund Issues: Customers report unauthorized charges, problems with auto-renewal, and extreme difficulty obtaining refunds for plans or services that did not work as advertised.
SIM Activation and Delivery Problems: There are multiple reports of SIM cards not being delivered, or being delivered with incorrect information, making activation impossible.
General Dissatisfaction: Overall, Lyca Mobile has a very low average rating (1.4 out of 5 from over 900 reviews), with most reviewers strongly advising others to avoid the compan

I've had Lyca before and never had any issues with them. For budget shoppers. MINT moble is the cheapest plan with the best options out there. I pay something like $240 for the entire year with 15GB of data per month. Customer service isnt great and the mods over at the MINT Reddit Sub are absolute scumbags though.

Instead of thinking of ways to make them stop charging your cc,
why not just NOT considering this scam company at all.

*they make it very difficult to port out, hold your number hostage.
*just when you thought your account is already closed, they will still charge your cc

STAY AWAY from Lyca Mobile.

I bought a 2 year infimobile plan working fine. $14.10 mo average for 30gb. 13 months in going strong. They gave me free hotspot for a technical issue getting setup. Looks like it will jump up to $31 per month in 03/2026. Not sure if I will just pay the monthly and keep going.

The customer service really is horrible. I had two numbers with them that I was able to port out successfully, but I was disconnected four times while trying to port out. I don't even think it's necessarily the CS reps just hanging up, because I was disconnected immediately after the initial menu started to play one time. If you plan to port out, they will ask you for your two most frequently dialed numbers "to prove you own the account" (even though they also send a OTP to your phone while you'retalking with them) and if you get it "wrong" the representative won't let you give them different numbers to try with. I got it "wrong" the first time I tried to port out, so I ended up calling my wife's and daughter's phones about 100x each in order to ensure those were the "correct" phone numbers. The second time I ported out, I called my wife and daughter like that again, but then the rep asked for two more phone numbers. Luckily the four numbers I gave must have been correct because I got the porting information afterward. They also activate your account before you actually receive the SIM card, which is another shady thing they pull.Despite all this BS, I'm going to keep porting back and forth between Lyca and other carriers because the deals they offer are actually pretty good, as long as you can work around their BS. I also take great pleasure in signing up for a 3-month plan for $15 when they have to spend around $10 to FedEx me a SIM card.
What a waste of time
TracFone & InfiniMob are much cheaper and less time for 6 to 12 months. Even Helium zero is nothing
