I recommend using privacy-dot-com virtual credit card numbers with companies like this. Their customer service is horrendous. I had to do a chargeback eventually to get a refund.

I ended my service and deleted my eSIM. They kept charging me. But the only way to log back in is by getting a code texted to your Lyca number. I didn't have Lyca anymore to get one!

On another occasion I hit submit more than once, because the website wasn't responding. So I got charged twice, there. (Turn off any ad-blocking when you sign up, that should help.)

I'm happy with Infimobile. I simply paid for a yearly sim card, and don't have to give them any re-curring payment info.

The customer service really is horrible.
I had two numbers with them that I was able to port out successfully, but I was disconnected four times while trying to port out. I don't even think it's necessarily the CS reps just hanging up, because I was disconnected immediately after the initial menu started to play one time.

If you plan to port out, they will ask you for your two most frequently dialed numbers "to prove you own the account" (even though they also send a OTP to your phone while you'retalking with them) and if you get it "wrong" the representative won't let you give them different numbers to try with. I got it "wrong" the first time I tried to port out, so I ended up calling my wife's and daughter's phones about 100x each in order to ensure those were the "correct" phone numbers. The second time I ported out, I called my wife and daughter like that again, but then the rep asked for two more phone numbers. Luckily the four numbers I gave must have been correct because I got the porting information afterward.

They also activate your account before you actually receive the SIM card, which is another shady thing they pull.

Despite all this BS, I'm going to keep porting back and forth between Lyca and other carriers because the deals they offer are actually pretty good, as long as you can work around their BS. I also take great pleasure in signing up for a 3-month plan for $15 when they have to spend around $10 to FedEx me a SIM card.

This is a rogue company. From fraudulent charges to my credit card, incompetent customer service, and arm twisting when you want to port over from them. If you value your time and yourself, do not sign up with this provider.

I got an offer from C1 shopping for $45 back at Lyca mobile, and they have a $7.50/month promo valid for up to 3 months, so I'm going to get that. I figure I can use this as a new port-in number if any good deals pop up in the next few months and I'll come out at least $20 ahead and it'll cost this shady company money to send me the SIM and pay the C1 rewards. Win-win-win

The $45 already showed up on my rewards dashboard for the purchase I made yesterday. I thought I was going to have to fight for it, so, it was a pleasant surprise.

I was going to port my elderly relative's number, but after checking the reviews, I'll pass. Saving a few bucks isn't worth the hassle and the poor support experience. Sometimes it's better to pay a bit more for peace of mind. I'll go with US Mobile instead.

Amazing this became a front page deal despite so many posters condemning the company! Their practices will make even the most peaceful saint loose his or her state of mind.

They are certainly fraudulent, when it comes to charges, they have fraudulently disabled your card deletion so you auto pay what they increase after the initial bait.. you are the ruthless kill they hook on to

Lyca could have a deal for $1/mo for Unlimited Data/text and i would never go back. Absolute nightmare of a company to deal with. By far the worst customer service I've ever dealt with, and a total PITA to port out. Never again

Good luck porting out. Make sure to switch your card on file to a Privacy virtual credit card and delete your credit card on there. And try to port days before your plan ends to avoid further issues. They ask for your two most called/texted numbers, so before you call (and wait an hour) to get your port information from them, make sure to call two numbers like 10 times so you can give those numbers to them when they ask. Their entire process is silly and they've turned it into a game of "how much of a nightmare can we make porting out?", and even if you do everything right, there's still a chance they'll continue charging your credit card after you leave

Capital One and Citi Bank also have virtual credit card numbers.
