This is a great deal if you don't mind that it is slow. 10 Gbps is way slower than thunderbolt 3 or 4

let's clear up some nonsense claims in here:this is a das, not a nas. if you don't know the difference, you need to do more research before you buy either.10gbit is more than enough for many, many use cases, such as is if you only plan to use the 3.5" drives. and even if you plan to get m.2 drives, many of the budget options of those have poor sustained write speeds that will sure as heck be less than 10gbit. even with a high end m.2, there are many more use cases that will never break 10gbit than will.those who actually know they need the speed should look elsewhere, but for regular folks it's likely plenty. some perspective: I have a nas that only has 2x2.5gbit Ethernet ports, and has 4 nvme bays. so would I get it? at that price it's a good deal. my main concern is heat.

Agreed. Even in RAID 0 two HDDs shouldn't saturate 10Gbps so it only bottlenecks NVME drives. (BTW, I got it for $75)

For the most part I agree with this sentiment. I would be interested to see the use case of those who are concerned about the 10Gbps speed. Having said that, it's a DAS not a NAS so obviously it's a little disappointing to have such slow speeds on a locally connected device, even if that speed would be appropriate for a NAS.

A direct attached 7200 Hard drive gets about 125MB/s and they are perfectly functional for most use home us cases. 10Gb (about 1200MB/s) is pretty decent
