Aaaaaargh! 1/2 of me wants to order this in both metric and sae to make up most of a "in the house for easy projects without going to the garage" box.

the other half can't stop thinking that a $99 lesser brand boxed set from another SD would cover more bases.

are these things really as nice as i believe they are?

I definitely thought it was over priced and initially got the $30 Wiha GoBox, which occupies a similar niche, but on a whim bought this Wera set just to try out and loved it. Gave my Wiha GoBox to my buddy. I've since has 2 other friends pick up this Wera set after playing around with mine. I debated Metric vs Imperial and found Metric was definitely the right call -- all my bikes and most furniture I've put together seem to come with Metric hex.

I really think this is the perfect thing for a DIY typa guy. Way more pleasant to use this when building some IKEA/Wayfarer furniture, assembling a little server rack, servicing a computer, fixing up a bike, adjusting cabinetry, etc. Yes it is expensive, but it makes these regular experiences so much more pleasant. I really thought the stubby screw driver and tiny ratchet wouldn't be so useful, but they are. I like not having to grab my Makita XPS bit case + ratcheting screw driver + Allen key set every time I need to help a friend assemble something.

This + Milwaukee installation driver + Milwaukee Fastback are my most used tools.

Doing mechanic work I can't believe the price of tools these days. A few years ago this was a $20 set at a Tractor Supply. I wouldn't mind the metric set but even at this price a big nope from me.
