These are the heavy duty bypass pruners with better leverage—well worth the price.

Anyone using these in the kitchen? I was watching a reel of a guy using gardening shears to cut open lobster tails

I've been buying fisker products as they've been posted on sale at SD. They are pretty much higher quality/heavy duty. Only thing I noticed so far is it will lose color if you leave it in the sun but it is still very strong and sturdy.

Thanks OP. I really want to try and keep a non-abused pair of pruners for my wife. YMMV, but I have multiple generic Corona-style solid metal pruners from Amazon that look like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Garden-Gur...B00HP8Z5J6
I tend to grab the first pair I see and cut through anything my hands can squeeze them through (multiple because I keep trying to buy one for my wife, but they get mixed up), and surprisingly, this has yet to result in any failures, other than blades that need sharpening.
No, I don't know anything about pruning garden plants, I just have a need to quickly strip branches and vines off of things that are in my way when I didn't fetch a machete, hatchet, loppers, or saw beforehand.

Lifetime warranty for Fiskars means you get to argue with them a bunch before they finally say to ship back to them AT YOUR EXPENSE for a repair or replacement.

As for the OP tool, read the reviews on multiple places the past year or 2. Cheapened the tool quite a bit and many parts of this break easily.

Better off with a Corona brand for a little more.

Are these easy to sharpen? Do people usually sharpen these or just buy new ones when there are deals?

I just use a $10 metal file on my pruners and it seems works fine. I also use it to keep my lawnmower blade sharp-ish between mows.
