Do they charge taxes on monthly plan cost? I'm thinking to move to $35 plan.

Alternatively, if you sign up for autopay the monthly charge goes down from $40 to $30. But, autopay only goes into effect after the first month.

Did you purchase 16e from Verizon prepaid or Tracfone?

So, your monthly total is $15 now?

The $20 credit is part of this device's promo in the first place. ($20 monthly credit for 10 months of service, starting on the second month). That's why they were promoting the device as being just "$49.99", as $249.99 minus $200 (ten $20 monthly credits).

Of course, probably none of us are actually staying on for 11 months to avail the full $200 worth of credits. But it does help for this second month, to reach 60 paid days.

You don't have to stay on an unlimited plan to get the $20/month off?

That part I'm not sure of; I assumed you did have to, based on the wording of the original terms. But if that user already got the $20 credit placed into their account balance, I'm guessing they can now downgrade their plan to the $35 plan, still keep that $20 credit, and still use it towards a second month.

YMMV. I'm staying on the Unlimited as I don't want to chance something going wrong or being redacted in the second month and having to argue with Verizon's CS. After the $20 credit and $10 Autopay discount, Unlimited comes out to $30 for the second month.

Exactly, I wouldn't want to chance it either in case they claw back the $20 discount on the $35 limited plan--just not worth worrying about.

I called in their fraud department, and I'm not the only person in this thread who posted about calling in/going to the store to get past that email "requirement" and allow the order to move forward.
