IF this is used as a cleaning tool that's perfectly fine.

As a de-fogging tool????

When I was 16 and still an idiot without higher education at the time, I used Rain-X anti-fog snake oil.

I'll never again use anything that is de-fog for interior windows. You can literally de-fog your car FOR FREE.

Set your air conditioning or heat to recycle the air and turn on A/C (yes even in the winter)

Fog is caused by humidity, Air conditioning literally removes humidity from the air. That's why you have a puddle of water under your car after you've driven with the A/C on.

This is a "last pass" sort of tool for cleaning glass. Its the dirt and oils that stick to the glass (from people breathing in a car) so you would need to remove as much of this layer as possible with normal glass cleaning methods before using something like this. I personally wash my hands using dish soap (remove oil and dirt from my hands), use a non-ammonia glass cleaner spray and paper towels to help remove the bulk of the dirt from windows as the non-ammonia window cleaner is also safe for window tint. Usually takes me 2-3 passes with a paper towel that gets soaked with the glass cleaner and a dry paper towel to help remove was was broken down from the cleaning solution, then use a clean microfiber towel to remove the fine residue remaining. Super tedious and time consuming but is very consistent for smudge and streak free windows. I'd say this pad could replace the microfiber towel in my process but with the surface area on this thing I'd probably get through wiping down the windshield before needing to wash it before finishing the door windows.

The moisture in the car normally has to have something to stick to on the glass to fog it up, and while it will of course fog up with spotless windows it can be much worse or faster to fog with dirty interior window surfaces. This could be used to remove the fine moisture that condensates on spotless glass, but at that point it would be as effective using a window squeegee.

Using the ac will definitely de-fog interior glass however if someone is on the auto repair struggle bus just using heat defrost to have the inside temperature to equalize with the outside of the glass without ac to remove the moisture will prevent or reduce fogging.

I think he works on older cars with a lot of build up so makes sense but the magic eraser is a bit harsh for newer cars

I intentionally and specifically stated that it was once I had a higher education (after 16 years old = College) that I was taught and learned about humidity and air conditioning. I learned it in freshman physics.
