As an FYI to anyone considering the Lyft GCs I have noticed they raised their prices a ton by me for some reason. They're almost double what Uber charged me to get to/from the airport the last two times I had to go somewhere. Just given that I'm not buying any until I find a way to use what I've already got.

Not sure if there's an account maximum in Lyft if you have too much loaded or some kind of security thing to avoid loading too many at once

The worst part is the Lyft app doesn't tell you this - it just throws a generic error, then if you try again, it says the card has been used, which scared the shit out of me.
Finally got @AskLyft Twitter support to guide me to the right answer, though they wouldn't outright confirm $500.
I was able to add the same card that was refusing to add to my account to my wife's, and it worked, so this is the answer if anyone's running into the same issue.
