I have this and the chain just fell apart on the fourth or fifth use. First chainsaw I've owned (I usually just borrow them when needed, which is rare), but pretty sure that isn't normal.
Would any chain work as a replacement?

Can you use the 80v batteries with these? Or they don't fit? I have an 80v mower with a second battery sitting in box and need to at least use the battery for something

Did you send it back for exchange?

Did you then try a reputable chain? Did you warranty the chain?

I returned it. Battery is fine but the battery capacity is just not there to do the job well. Went for a used Stihl...

This actually happened a couple weeks ago. I've had the saw for years now after a bad ice storm in OR. I used it to break up fallen trees and stuff originally. Used it a couple weeks ago on a stump I was trimming down and the chain came off and was beat to crap. What is a reputable chain to replace it with? Any 18" chain works?

I have used Oregon, Stihl, and Husqvarna for decades. They are all excellent. Oregon goes on sale more often.
Be sure to match your new chain to your blade. On your blade should be the specs for the chain that matches it. Specifically, the number of links, pitch, and gauge.
Other basics to remember are: chain oil, do not operate with the chain too tight or too loose (causes thrown chains) chaps, and eye protection.

I got this saw (or very similar model) 4 years ago with a weed wacker and also got an echo saw and weed wacker at the same time for around the same price. I've cut up numerous trees and used both a million times. The echo lasts significantly longer and the batteries haven't "lost" anything over the years even though it's the one I've used more. Also no one has ever complained and they have always complimented how easy they are to use. Greenworks on the other hand.... The batteries seems to lose run time every year and while the chainsaw has never given me significant problems (if I needed one for 153 dollars I'd probably buy it) I absolutely HATE the weed wacker and everyone that has ever used it has bitched endlessly about it. For the price it's a good deal but your buying into a system so if your also planning on getting the weed wacker down the line you've been warned.

Great deal, especially with the extra 15% WLCMBACK15 putting it at ~$153. This would be a pretty good price for just the 5 AH battery by itself.

Chain saws need to be maintained and I'm guessing that your chain, after sitting for years, wasn't tensioned correctly and/or wasn't sufficiently lubed.

Agreed. Just used your code and worked flawlessly. Was waiting for a good battery operated chainsaw deal. Also have an 80 and 60 battery so having another 60 battery included def makes this a good deal. As long as the chain issues don't occur like others mentioned
