I read the reviews and the most important part is that the window width MUST be 25" or larger or the supporting brackets will not fit in the window to hold the unit as intended. Apparently this most BASIC info was not included on the box, but does appear in the instructions inside the box. I hope this info will save you time and effort as it did me.
I wonder how good this is compared to the Midea 8k. The midea 8k U is so quiet when it's on the lowest cooling demand, I love it.
Just installed the unit on a just shy of 22" window frame, works great and it's very quiet.
Had to shortened one of the extensions that screws on the window frame in order to secure the ac bracket.

I think the Hisense one has a "quiet" model and the costco webpage video showed that it could down to 37 db which is better than Media. I just bought Media last week, and I consider to change it to this new one.
The Midea is 32dba for both the 8k and 12k. The Hisense is 37dba, so louder.

I bought the 12K Midea for a gym shed, but think I may return that and get this one. It's probably more appropriately sized, and hopefully doesn't have the mold concerns of the Midea.

Anyone has been this available in store?

I'd also be interested in hearing if anyone's seen these in store. The midea deal was $20 cheaper in store vs shipped...

Pulled the trigger on this unit, was waiting on the midea 8k to drop in price, with tariffs coming on who knows if they will.

About 13 pounds lighter than the Midea. Window size a problem here by a fraction of an inch, no problem with a Midea. Got a 10k Midea last year at an estate sale for $125.

It really depends on your room size, I put a 12k but in a 275ft room and the humidity kept increasing and it never felt cold, just cool. Then I got the midea 8k and it got colder with lower humidity. Also running 8k requires lower wattage - mine chills at 120-150watts and dips to 80s watt at night. I'm guessing this Hisense is most probably made by midea.
This is most produce to the 12k being too strong for your room size which means it cools faster and thus isnt able to run long enough to effectively cool and lower humidity, which in turn can also lead to the mold growth some occasionally mention.
The #1 reason why you need to make sure to get one appropriately sized for the given room.

Anyone ever install these type of A/C in windows that close from left to right instead of top/down? I've searched on youtube and have seen a few vids but was wondering if anyone has had real life experience doing it. My main concern is that it is on the 2nd story and I need it to be well supported (amazon has brackets for this I see) and nicely held up by the window area.
I am currently using those midea dual hose inverter a/c, but they take a lot of floor space. This would be nice to save some space Thank you!

I'd check your window opening... Is it 25" or more? If so you could give this a shot. Paint the plywood surround white.

Waiting for 8,000 BTU midea to go on sale last year it was $225 lowest from what I saw and it has wifi from what I see it has similar features but no Wi-Fi.

It does have WiFi I'm using the connectlife app to control it and set schedules

That's so strange then... I didn't see it on description on Costco or... the hisense website... That's something you'd usually advertise no?

I installed it on my window that closes from left to right. I filled the open space above the AC unit with plexy glass. Works like a charm. The unit is quiet and works very well. The remote control is easy to work with. We are very happy with our purchase.
