Nowhere near a medium roast. It's a dark roast and the beans are typically oily. IMO, the coffee tastes good, but beware if you use a grinder that is intolerant of oily beans.
That's not Lavazza Espresso Barista Gran Crema...

Would buy with coffee prices going up but I recently got some grand crema, afraid the freshness will be bad if not within a couple months

All I ever get is skunk coffee from Amazon!!

Except for Starbucks. They seem to be fresh. This brand always seems to be stale on Amazon.

I might try SB. People complain about them but I like their coffee.

I bought this brand. [amazon.com] The whole beans were fresh but their ground coffee was stale.

Any comment if this is good for latte art? Thanks!
Yes of course. Surprisingly, it pairs with Breville Barista Express really well, most consistent pulls from that machine, better than any other Lavazzas.

I have been buying ground coffee for many years. Just pour them into a $10 drip machine and coffie is ready after 5 minutes. How is this different from ground coffee?
It's fresher and therefore tastes better. When you grind beans before brewing, you are getting a fresher ground than that of buying pre-ground coffee.

Whole beans are still "holding" coffee, so when you grind them, you are inevitably getting fresher coffee then ground.

If you are ever able to drink the same brand, side by side, Ground vs Whole bean, the whole bean has a noticeable improvement in taste for most people, simply because its fresher.
Think of a clove of garlic vs pre-ground garlic. The clove is gonna taste better because its in its natural state, and being prepared right before cooking, or in this case, brewing.

But it also involves the rabbit hole of a good grinder, else the effort is ruined.

Timemore c3 is a good budget one
