Not a lot of great options in the US but Nongshim udon tastes very much like real udon despite being more of an instant product (microwavable). And it's very cheap, especially at Costco. Although I suppose you specify ramen, rather than udon. Ajinomoto Shoyu Ramen is a frozen option that, while not super authentic, is a pretty quality item with real chicken and a mild broth. Ichiran Ramen has a dried noodle option which is great but it usually comes to something like $7 per serving or something so at that point just go out and buy some at a restaurant (although in the US ramen is pretty absurdly priced).

I really think the best option is to find some authentic Japanese frozen or refrigerated noodles and make a simple miso broth or shoyu broth like this one: https://www.thespruceeats.com/qui...en-2031288. Or I can give you my miso recipe. Once you've done it a few times doesn't take much more than 10 min to make the broth/noodles, it's just the other topics you want to add that make this a longer recipe.

And now I'm hungry.

These are great, as long as you never think they're healthy lol. But I'd say these are mid-tier instant ramen for low-tier prices.

Any examples of high tier ramen you'd recommend?

I get this all the time at Costco. Same or similar to Costco sale price. I'm no ramen snob but this is pretty good for the price.

David Chang's Momofuku or Omsom's might fit the bill. And they're delicious. IIRC, baked or air dried rather than deep fried noodles and some name brand ingredients in the sauces. Leaning towards a bit less sodium.

Not cheap, and many require stovetop cooking unless you want to try to make up your own microwave instructions.

Any of them will jack up your blood sugar. Mine hits the roof eating one pack of any ramen with vegetables and protein added.

Pretty healthy as long as you don't add water. I heard fish poop in that stuff! 🤢
Water? You mean like in the toilet? What for?

Mine came to $7.78 with discounts and tax. Seems like a good deal!

I slightly disagree with comments on this being mid tier instant ramen, pretty tasty and should probably rank mid-high tier. instant ramen = ramen you could eat without having to boil a bowl of water separately. if you are ok with having to actually having to boil water, do dishes afterwards, then try Ichiran, pretty good ramen. you can get them on amazon/walmart/wee/yami

"received a customer returned noodle package. And noodle package damaged and leaked. I saw white wholefoods return label and red amazon warehouse label on outside package. Inside noodle package damaged and leaked noodle flakes."
