Not sure you'll need a lot of storage space if you do the one things these sticks are most best at.

I prefer AppleTV, but I also needed one of these to watch Blu-Ray rips with full surround sound. I use my AppleTV for everything else, but AppleTV does not support Dolby TrueHD or DTS-X. You can set up Kodi on these, and they play Blu-Ray rips great. The previous version of the Fires Stick Max did not support Dolby TrueHD or DTS-X. You need the newest version. Although it has nothing to do with supporting Dolby TrueHD or DTS-X, you can distinguish the newest version of the Fire Stick Max because it also supports Wifi-Fi 6E.

Will not buy a fire tv stick. Bought 3 in the past decade, bloatware slowed down the system significantly over the years and became unusable, despite turning off all the settings. Switched to Google TV, zero issues 3 years now.

My older 4K max stick supported it in Kodi. However not supported in Plex. You know if the new one is supported in Plex?

Supposedly the Nvidia Shield supports it in Plex.

The firestkck is great at it too. It'll remain to be seen if they will disable sideloading apps like the file explorer one or url. Once that goes another streaming stick wil take its place among our fellow mateys

For those wanting to use this with a newer Onkyo receiver, double check that they fixed the handshaking issues with the Fire stick. I had the previous gen Max and it had lots of issues with the video and audio cutting out.
Found out it was a common issue on AVS.

My condolences to anyone buying an Amazon device. They are spec's with lowest possible hardware, locked eco system giving you zero control and designed to slowdown in a couple years. On top of that, you are selling your data for the low price, which is worth thousands of dollars. Good luck.

There are a lot of off-label things you can do w a fire stick. You're missing the point, if you're only using it for Prime and Netflix.
