Make sure the solar panel is at the best angle in your area and season. There are calculators you can search that give the best angle for your address or ZIP code.

I have three of these, two at a property in another state and I will never trust Eufy solar again. The two out of state ones are connected to a Homebase 3 and they were working fine and almost always charging to 100% in the winter. Then the beginning of last month there was a software update and one of them the solar panel stopped charging and it is now dead. The other one thankfully never stopped charging but it only charges up to 80-85% almost never to 100%. These cameras are new, set to optimum battery life etc etc and only get a handful of notifications everyday. I regularly see drops of 10-15% overnight now which is bizarre. The cameras are robust, connect quickly and the multiple lenses with zoom are great, it's just a shame I can't trust the solar panels. Also all my cameras are south facing. The one here at my house, it can be sitting in blazing sun and only charge up to 85% or it can charge to 100%, it makes no sense. I just bought a hardwired Reolink system for my building out of state and going to install that when I go there, Eufy solar is simply not reliable for monitoring a property that are not near to.

Every single one of my various eufy solar cam turns off when there is no enough sunlight and never turns back on even when it's "charging." I have to unmount it and charge it by plugging it in.

I'm in Los Angeles!!!
I normally don't respond to anything.....but these helped me with my solar eufy cameras:

https://a.co/d/4QpvNAB

*Mounted them near my cameras after I studied the sunrise/sunset pattern.

*plugged the usb-c solar plug into the usb-c charge port of my camera (left some slack so water could drip down during rain and not potentially into the charge port)

The cameras stay fully charged now.
Hope this helps 👍🏾

Eufy products are almost all great....except. I have about 6 different products from them, different cameras and the doorbell. The solar works great. If the battery runs out on solar, the camera won't come back online until the internal battery charges to something like 50%. So Mr Los Angeles just needs to practice some patience.

However, I won't be buying Eufy any further. After installing a SSL MITM proxy to inspect inbound and outbound traffic in my network, I noticed one of my eufy cameras tries to check in with China. It has no reason to do this as I use RTSP to offload the video to, don't use push, and keep everything set locally. This is by and large a security issue. So while 5 of 6 products don't do this, one is one too many. The product that checks in to China was a floodlight cam 2.

Wow. I thought this was just me that this happens to.

Midwest here, but about once or twice a year my garage camera completely dies (we get pretty dark in winter despite being in ideal sun position). I always have to wait until everything's not frozen and unplug it and replug it to work again. Ironically, when I do, it's sitting at like 70% but it would never turn back on until you unplug/replug it.

As someone who genuinely wants to help you... You didn't place them correctly. Mine stayed on all through NY winter. They need direct sunlight. Direct. Not indirect. *Vertical* sun rays. If they are under a soffit of any kind, they are not going to work. they cannot be under eaves or soffit.

I am beginning to wonder if that is what is going on with my Eufy cameras. I have the app on my MacBook Pro and it's been fine until the last week, I noticed my computer started getting hot and it never gets hot. I opened up activity monitor and it showed the Eufy app was using massive cpu power. I would have to open it up and then quit it for my computer to start going back to normal. Eufy could be a great company but they are also a hot mess. My Wyze are cheap but almost flawless unless there is bad weather or windy and it starts having a ton of notifications.

Wish these had that extra $40 off back in December. Remember paying only 80 bucks plus tax then. Still decent if you really need one and can't wait.
That was a price
Mistake. I also snagged 5 that time.

I replaced all my Wyze cams with these. They're legit good. I have my relatives getting in on the action, too.
