This might include a copy of Monster Hunter Wilds. It's still within the time frame for AMD's promotion, but one comment on Reddit said they didn't receive a code and are waiting to hear back from Micro Center support if they're still available.

edit: most likely the code won't be included as they've possibly (probably?) run out.

If I knew they were doing this AND that I could use another email for $25 off, I probably would've gone this route instead of doing my 5800XT build that I started last week. Oh well... Microcenter misses out.

I won't be able to tell the difference.

Between a 5800xt and a 9600x, yah you'll be able to a difference. Perhaps not so much at 4k (depending upon your GPU of course)

this Ryzen 9600x is a BEAST! Bench scores are solid just wish some of these GPU prices would drop, currently have it paired rx6600, great so far for 1080p gaming

From what I can tell, the 5800XT should have 90% of the gaming performance of the 9600X. If that's 120 fps instead of 132 fps, I don't see myself noticing. I'm pretty sure my RTX 2080Ti will limit me more often.

That is, the 5800XT should match the 5800X PBO, which gets 81% of the 5800X3D's gaming performance. https://www.tomshardware.com/revi...d-review/5
That will match the 7700, which gets 90% of the performance of the 9600X: https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-c...u-review/2

i got a 11700K cpu with 7800XT gpu. if i upgrade it to 9600X, will i get improved gaming performance on 1440p in terms of fps? looking to upgrade my cpu for this and hoping if i get funds in the future, i might upgrade it to 9800X3D.

You will need to get new motherboard as well

How accurate is the gpu/cpu bottleneck calculator on pc-build? According to that site this will actually keep up with the 5090 at super high resolutions such as 7680x2160

I lucked out on a best buy gpu at msrp but I'm strapped for cash so I'm not looking to drop another 2k on an all out build and would like to buy into an am5 platform to later get a "proper" x3d chip

I think it may be YMMV?
I purchase a bundle the other day and my specific store said they ran out of codes?

not worth, you're gonna see almost similar results. The only way to get an upgrade is the x3d series, might as well buy it if you were going to upgrade into it

If the code is available it should be printed on the receipt. The AMD Rewards page does say the following and I don't see any advertising for Monster Hunters Wild on the Microcenter website so they may have ran out of codes. I even checked the Amazon website that had the promo a week ago and that seems to now be missing from the page.

Campaign Period: Campaign Period begins on February 25, 2025, at 9:00:00 AM Eastern Time ("ET") and ends on May 10, 2025, at 11:59:59 PM ET, or the when supply of Coupon Codes is exhausted, whichever occurs first (the "Campaign Period"). Please consult the world clock for time zone conversion information.

Isn't the $25 always available, but MMV, like HSN new customer coupons?

But I can save $200 and it works great. Then I'll buy an AM6 system at first launch in 3 years.
