is there a rule somewhere that all wide shoes must only come in boring colors with an ugly design? good lord it's so hard to find good looking ones.

The Kayano 31 have 4 colors in EW this round. Black, gray, gray, green, but I see a limited edition red(if you can find it.)

There is some truth to it. Wide and X-Wides shoes have much less demand. It's a niche market so manufacturers mostly produce neutral color shoes. Otherwise, too many pairs will remain unsold.

And add to that a good portion of wide footed people just go up in side.

I usually have to go up 1/2 to 1 size to get a wider fitting shoe. But wide are my go-to to running comfortably
