Eww tags...are tags cheaper than tagless in 2025? I can't fathom why they would make tees with tags otherwise.

The tags are designed to tear out. Shirt.woot uses Gildan often and I always immediately tear out the tag. Bought some Hanes recently and the tags were super annoying. Ended up carefully slicing them out.

I saw these in all different colors and sizes a few days ago at Michael's for $2.99 if that's helpful to anybody. Didn't look that closely but they felt soft

I got a few ten packs of the white ones (different sizes) when they hit 10/$13 a few years ago. Cotton, took dye well (arts and crafts with the kid), soft, no pilling after many washes, more durable than most cheap shirts, not as heavy as, e.g. the Hanes heavy duty cotton, but plenty serviceable.

I saw the same thing there too. I've found the "heather" and safety color ones hold up better than other ones, and shrink less too.

I was going to comment the same thing. Michaels has Gildan "Heavy Cotton" shirts for $2.99 each and they often have coupons you can use. I actually picked up 2 shirts for $1 with the quarterly $5 off coupon they give.

Heather and Safety colors are 50% cotton / 50% polyester blend. That's why they feel more substantial and durable.
