I won't buy batteries from Amazon anymore.
The problem with Amazon is that they don't separate inventory via seller \ store, which is why they have such a bad counterfeiting problem.
When Energizer sends a shipment of these to be resold, Amazon essentially throws it into the "4-Count Energizer CR2032 3V Lithium Coin Cell Battery" bin, where it gets mixed with all of the counterfeits other vendors sent them.

Evidently, it's cheaper for Amazon to return \ refund customers that complain than it is to properly track and manage their inventory.

I know you're probably alluding to these being counterfeit (which a LOT of batteries and chargers on Amazon are), but I am hoping that since this is the Energizer Store that there will be a lesser chance of that here.
My only trepidation is that these have the child-safe coating and some electronics are sensitive to that - AirTags come to mind. Duracell had to re-work their coatings and sell these advertising them as "Compatible with AirTags".

12.98 regular price is way over inflated for what they normally sell for a four pack. Normally they are 4.99

I think I know what you mean - these coin cells and other lithium variants seem terrible

My understanding is if it is fulfilled by Amazon the source doesn't matter because they all go to the same pick location so if you make counterfeit batteries that look like Energizer and you are selling on Amazon they can all go to the same pick location that the Energizer batteries go to. iI you think about it think about it this makes sense. I used to work in a warehouse and new stock got put in reserve (to follow first in first out) then moved to the pick location when the pick location emptied. if we had a new pick location for ever vendor for every product it would take up much more pick area.

At first we all had a slight chance at getting counterfeit batteries but as more and more vendors counterfeit the odds of getting a counterfeit increase. My last Energizer batteries I ordered from Amazon I believe we're counterfeit because the colors were not as vibrant as the originals. I believe there's a YouTube video explaining what I just said maybe Google. Amazon toothpaste counterfeit.

Weren't there reports showing that the brick and mortars have the same issue. Something about the supply chain introducing counterfeits into the export stream. My understanding is it's very difficult to ensure genuine batteries anywhere now.
